Niantic’s QA Engineering team is seeking a QA Engineer who will be responsible for QA feature testing efforts for Pokémon Go. As a QA Engineer, you will work closely with our other QA team members, our QA manager, and our production team to ensure that we are delivering high-quality experiences to our players. You will be responsible for planning, creating, implementing, and executing testing for core areas of our games.
Responsibilities
Build and manage testing estimates, schedules, timelines, bug analytics/metrics, and mitigation plans.
Manage Pokémon GO feature testing and integration across Niantic’s technologies and platform.
Collaborate with our TPMs to interface with external QA resources and with the development team to track defects during feature development.
Drive the development and execution of test cases and suites for new features.
Report project testing efforts to our project leads and production team.
Work with the QA leadership team on QA process improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional team members and stakeholders, including regular and reliable attendance and participation in meetings.
Required in-office 2 days on Wednesday and Thursday.
Qualifications
You have a BS in Computer Science or another technical major and/or a minimum of 3 years of software QA experience.
Proven understanding of QA methodology and tools.
Experience leading, building, and crafting test strategies for game and consumer-facing products.
Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment and handle stress appropriately and/or ability to solve practical problems and be sufficiently adaptable to handle dynamic situations with little advance notice.
Experience working on cross-functional teams with ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communications, including synchronous interactions with others.
Plus If...
One or more years of mobile testing/QA experience.
Passion for mobile devices and mobile gaming.
Experience writing test automation/scripts.
The total compensation package for this position includes a new hire offer base salary range of $102,000 - $141,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
Individual pay within this salary range is determined by work location and additional factors, including assessed job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
