Are you a killer 3D artist who specializes in world-building? Are you experienced in 3D development and pipelines? Got something to show the world? If so, New World Interactive might be the place for you! We are looking for a Senior Environmental Artist to help create high-quality and detailed levels. This is a full-time, permanent position within the Art Team where you can focus on what you love.

What a Senior Environmental Artist will do:

  • Work together with the Level Design Team and the Creative Director to create appealing Environments
  • Actively participate in milestone planning and reviews
  • Work with Technical Artists to create and improve tools and workflows
  • Identify and set up best practices, workflows and pipelines for Level Art Creation
  • Work with Technical Art and other artists to develop the environmental art creation and integration pipeline

If you’re interested, you’ll need these skills or experiences:

  • 4+ years of experience with a high-end game engine, including high-resolution 3D modeling, surfacing, optimization and game integration
  • Set the tone for Art Direction through visual prototypes
  • Lead change to address workflow challenges and technical difficulties
  • Proficiency, as demonstrated in your portfolio in game development, as an artist specializing in hard surface and environmental modelling using Blender, Substance Painter and Zbrush
  • Portfolio demonstrating Environmental art skills
  • Proficiency in UE4, with an ability to create believable materials and architectural modular kits for any aesthetic
  • Great eye for color and texture
  • Ability to understand and learn technical and creative concepts
  • Understand and follow technical limitations
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Evaluate outsourced assets as they are delivered to make sure they meet quality standards in conjunction with the Art Director. Integrate outsourced assets into environments as needed
  • Organic and hard surface modelling/sculpting skills are a must
  • Keep up to date on the latest industry-standard tools, workflows and techniques
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills

Portfolio Requirements:

  • A web portfolio that demonstrates a range of high-quality, 3D art
  • Excellent understanding of light, shade, color and detail when creating game materials, models and final scenes
  • Samples from previous industry work

Additional skills or experiences that will move you up in the stack-ranking for considerations are:

  • Traditional art skills such as drawing, painting and sculpting are a plus
  • An interest or love of military aesthetics
  • 1+ shipped AAA game titles or equivalent work e.g. live product development
  • Experience in Unreal
