The Games UI team is looking for a Senior Test Engineer to improve the quality of our new cloud games experiences.

The Games UI team is responsible for the platform UI across all devices that Netflix is available on, including both Discovery experiences and in-game platform functionality. The team is passionate about bringing a new kind of ✨joy✨ to hundreds of millions of Netflix members around the world, whether they’re traveling to a remote location or at home with family.

As we grow and scale our gaming initiative, the quality of our work will be a defining factor in the future success of Games at Netflix. This role will work on unique challenges involving inter-device connectivity and interaction. You will work with cross-functional partners including product managers, designers, and data scientists to build and test exciting new features.

Who You Are

  • You are passionate about quality and excel at finding those weird/edgecase/race condition bugs that our members face.

  • You are self-directed and proactively look for solutions to bridge the needs of the business with technology.

  • You have experience testing on either Web or TV and deep expertise with either platform.

  • You are adept at analyzing data to gain insights that drive improvements in app quality.

  • You are an open and proactive communicator who shares context, ideas, and feedback while educating others to become more self-sufficient.

  • You are comfortable with some degree of uncertainty and ambiguity.

What You Will Do

  • Design and implement automation tests using object-oriented testing frameworks similar to Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, React Testing Library, and Jest.

  • Develop a robust testing strategy and framework utilizing existing tooling.

  • Advocate for improvements to test infrastructure and tools where necessary.

  • Debug issues with a variety of tools and identify root causes in close partnership with UI engineers.

  • Gather and analyze operational data to gain insights on how to improve test stability, performance, and developer engagement.
