The games platform team is looking for a Manager of Quality Assurance with a passion for top quality interactive entertainment and eagerness to take on the next big challenge. As our QA Manager you’ll be working closely with developers on multiple teams, as well as interfacing with Netflix Game Studios and Operations. Quality for us is an integral part of the whole development cycle and your work will involve developing the way we work, guiding and coaching team members as well as leading and developing our Quality Assurance discipline to ensure the end to end quality across our platform. You will work closely with Netflix testing automation teams to augment existing frameworks to support game platform needs. The predominant focus will be on automation vs manual testing.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and champion the overall quality of our platform, while developing our QA craft, standards and processes

  • Work closely with Netflix testing automation teams to augment existing frameworks to support game platform needs.

  • Teaching and evangelizing quality assurance principles to our developers

  • Optimize performance of projects using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques

  • Excellent cross-functional communication and influencing skills

  • Inspire, develop, lead and coach QA team members to individual and team excellence

  • Lead the charge in hiring superstar talent for the Games Platform QA team

  • Work closely with game leads and other disciplines to ensure our ways of working, processes and development culture enable making great experiences for game studios

  • Identify issues that prevent creating great games and correct the course in a collaborative manner. You also have a keen eye on identifying even the smallest successes and celebrate those moments together with the people involved

  • Establish KPIs to evaluate testing efforts, and vendor quality, implementing changes as necessary

  • Conduct requirements gathering, and risk identification; reporting on all associated risks

  • Drive all test development activities; estimation, planning, execution, reporting, closure

Requirements:

  • Passion for games with a commitment to quality

  • 10+ years of industry experience in QA

  • Minimum 3 years experience hands-on testing in the Gaming industry

  • Minimum 4 years of experience leading QA professionals

  • Expert knowledge of QA requirements, tools, and processes

  • Technical requirements testing experience

  • Demonstrated experience in test planning for complex features/systems

  • Flexible and team-oriented with excellent interpersonal, communications and collaborative skills

  • Track record of leading people and teams. You have an understanding of developer motivations and aspirations and you enjoy leading people. You have coached and managed people and teams in the past. You are capable of choosing the right level of involvement, and move between the required modes as needed

  • You are comfortable with juggling multiple priorities and able to identify what’s important for your discipline and to Netflix as a company

  • Major + if you have experience from multiple studios and international environments

The overall market range for roles in this area of Netflix is typically $180,000 - $900,000.
