What We Expect

As Creative Lead on the External Game Development team, you will manage a team of highly skilled Designers and work directly with the Head of External Game development to ensure our developers have everything they need to succeed.

The creative lead should ensure each developer is equipped to build the highest quality games. Ownership of the game and tactical system designs is with the game developers, however, the Creative Lead and their designers should provide guidance and feedback throughout the games development cycle.

You have a proven track record of building and leading teams that excel both creatively and strategically to create great work. You are able to build relationships with colleagues in high-level leadership roles - positioning yourself and your team as a valued partner in meeting company objectives. Responsibilities:

  • Provide developers with design, art, audio and narrative feedback to ensure we are making the best games
  • Understand and speak to the game pillars (who is the player, what does the player do, why does it matter) for each game we are working on
  • Serve as the voice of authority for Netflix IP within game adaptations including brand tone and creative considerations. Collaborate with film/series creators to ensure authenticity.
  • Evaluate developers on their artistic and design competency
  • Recommend and share information on different games/genres with head of external development and head of sourcing to ensure the portfolio is diverse and high quality

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience developing and directing creative work for games (social, F2P, mobile, web, console, handheld)
  • Ability to collaborate with and manage external development teams
  • An excellent knowledge of game design, the difficulties generally encountered by teams and solutions tailored to their requirements.
  • Having led complex cross functional projects with successful delivery of quality in design, art, audio and narrative
  • Licensed game experience a plus
  • Extremely strong project management skills - Fluent with Agile methodology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
