Nerd Street Gamers provides an opportunity for gamers to gain experience in competitive esports competitions, and they also are home to a community of like-minded amateur competitors. Our product offering includes facilities, event management, and broadcast production with an underlying software framework that ties it all together. In short, we’re helping to build the infrastructure of esports. And we’re looking for talented, high-energy team members who can collaborate in a professional-minded, high-paced environment.

Nerd Street’s Software Product Team seeks to add a remote QA engineer with experience in full-stack automated user acceptance testing of Next.js React-based applications.

A successful QA Engineer will help build and maintain the automated user test suite for our esports platforms - to include event management, eCommerce, facilities management, and content production systems. In addition to writing code, they will participate in user story documentation, demonstrations of system functionality, and the development of system documentation and training.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of web accessibility standards
  • Some experience writing unit tests in Jest
  • Some experience writing end-to-end tests in JavaScript using frameworks like Cypress, Puppeteer, and Playwright
  • Some experience writing visual regression tests using tools like Chromatic
  • Some experience using tools like Lighthouse to measure web performance
  • Familiarity with React and/or React Native, NodeJS, and MongoDB deployed with cloud services such as Google Cloud Functions, Firebase, and/or AWS Lambda
  • Some familiarity with both GraphQL and REST APIs

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience writing test suites for large-scale applications
  • Can be autonomous and self-driven
  • Interested in participating in code reviews and having their code reviewed
  • Can plan tasks that balance implementation time, business need, and maintainability
  • Has strong UX and design sensibilities
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines
