SUMMARY:
The Naughty Dog Character Concept Department is looking to add another exceptional person to our team. We strive to create compelling, grounded characters who fit seamlessly within the narrative-driven worlds we build. You’ll work alongside other departments and disciplines to inform, inspire, collaborate and create artistic solutions to technical obstacles. Our Character pipeline is at the forefront of AAA development- we’re looking for individuals who want to be a part of our expanding process!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with Art Directors and team to create narrative-driven casts of characters and costumes
- Assist in creating mood boards, gathering reference and participating in our 3D scanning process
- Work with a wardrobe stylist, assist in fittings and facilitating model reference sessions with Art Director and Casting Director
- Strengthen intra and inter-team communication to ensure highest fidelity results
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
- Strong interest in contemporary character and costume design
- Exceptional draftsmanship with a strong knowledge of anatomy and art fundamentals
- Portfolio demonstrates compelling design, composition and storytelling through costume and character
- Proficiency working in Photoshop
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Pro-active team member who thrives in a self-starter environment
- Must be receptive to art direction and perform well within a team setting: collaboration is a fundamental building block of our team
BONUS SKILLS:
- Proficiencies in 3D software: ZBrush, Maya
- Previous game or film experience
As a part of the Naughty Dog application process, candidates will be expected to provide a portfolio of their work and may be asked to complete an art test.
