Responsibilities

  • Game Art Direction: Understanding the art style of MPL and coming up with ways to improve it while staying consistent with the existing game content. Talking to partner Game studios and coming up with ideas in collaboration with them. Decision-making with respect to all in-Game assets like game icons, logos, logotypes, tutorials, etc
  • Games Team: Participating in brain-storm and ideation with the MPL Games Team and coming up with fresh ideas and themes for the games being designed. Understanding constraints and scope of the project to ideate appropriately.
  • Hands-on Art: Having the ability to quickly communicate ideas with quick sketches and mock ups. Having a command over traditional artwork media as well as software based tools.

Requirements

  • Strong sense of form, colour and composition
  • Thorough practice of making visual art in the form of sketching and coming up with multiple iterations in a short period of time
  • Ability to design suitable In-Game UI assets that fit well into the visual theme of the game (eg: buttons, menus, HUDs, etc)
  • Ability to change In-Game UI assets of existing games into appealing themes (eg: festivals, seasons, etc.)
  • Ability to collaborate with the team, work with tight deadlines and improvise under pressure
  • Strong sense of folder and file management
  • 1+ years of industry experience in working with consumer centric Mobile Apps and/or in Design/Art Studios

Technical Requirements

  • Strong sketching skills with basic art materials
  • Ability to design appealing characters and environments
  • Command over digital art hardware tools (Wacom pen-tablets and displays)
  • Basic sense of fundamentals of motion and character animation
  • Experience with artwork software (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Procreate, etc)
  • Experience with animation software (Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere, etc)

Good-to-Haves

  • Comes from a gaming background with a passion for playing board games, video games and basic knowledge of PC and Console gaming
  • Hands-On UI design experience (Sketch is preferred over Adobe XD, Figma)
  • Worked on Games directly or any product with heavy gamification mechanics
  • Basic sense of sound and sound design
