The Gaming Developer Experiences (GDX) team is looking for an engineering lead to run one of our Client SDK teams. In this role, you will manage a passionate group of software engineers building a broad set of SDKs that will enable game developers to realize their dreams of providing cross platform and cross network game experiences to their customers. Your main area of focus will be client SDKs that interface with the Xbox Live and Azure Game Stack Services. You will be responsible for the development of the clients SDKs needed to ensure a great experience for customers (e.g. game studios and developers).

Responsibilities

As team leader are expected to spend about 50% of your time developing, growing and directing engineers to reach higher potential. The balance of your time will be spent driving architecture, innovation, design and development of client SDKs and middleware within the team and pushing technology out to partners in the Microsoft Gaming Division.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of software development experience
  • 8+ years coding in C++, C, and C#
  • 2+ years people management experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A love of leading people, and building incredible teams
  • Experience building positive partnerships between teams and divisions
  • Able to quickly resolve ambiguity and respond to rapid change
  • A strong performance history
  • Experience building high scale distributed systems
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent preferred
