The Studios Quality organization in Xbox Game Studios is looking for a senior software engineer to join the Studios Quality Technologies (SQ Tech) team to focus on integrating new AI Agent automation built with RL models with existing automation techniques and frameworks. As part of the SQ Tech team, you will help build the future of game automation. You will be working closely with the SQ AI Lab team to expand the capability and integrate new approaches as they are developed. You will work with the broader Studios Quality organization to impact the growing XGS portfolio of games.

As a team member, you will work closely with the other engineers on SQ Tech and the other Studios Quality teams to identify opportunities to advance the state of game test technology and help the broader organization achieve their goals of more frequent game releases at a higher quality bar.

Responsibilities

Core Activities

  • Work with a team of 3-5 engineers focused on automation framework improvements

  • Experiment with ways to combine and use multiple automation techniques together

  • Work closely with the SQ AI Lab team on accelerating the adoption of their AI Agents

  • Help move prototypes and proof of concepts into operational solutions

  • Provide technical leadership to the team and mentor junior members

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++ and C#

    • OR equivalent experience.

  • 1+ years experience with tool development or game automation

Additional Or Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience handling ambiguous environments with shifting or competing priorities

  • Interest in the gaming industry and game quality

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year.

There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
