You will be reporting to the manager of the Backend Server team.
Location: Hybrid/Remote Canada
As a Full Stack Software Engineer with Maxis, you will:
Responsibilities:
Develop responsive, resilient, massively scalable, and globally available web services that support millions of Sims players
Develop responsive, and performant user interfaces built on the latest web tech
Select technologies and tooling that are up to date with the latest developments in frontend and backend tech that support clean, performant code
Integrate with both internal and external backend services, iterating collaboratively with other engineers
Author and review technical design documents and specifications detailing software requirements
Maintain a suite of automated tests that validate performance and correctness
Qualifications:

Bachelor/Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
3+ years of job experience in a hands-on coding role
You have experience with client/server architecture and building HTTP APIs that run on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
You've shipped software built with Javascript or Typescript
You own large systems and features from design to deployment, including live support
You develop high-quality, testable software
You develop APIs and applications for products that release new updates with zero downtime strategies and tools
You have experience with load testing, troubleshooting, and optimizing performance of web applications
You have a desire to work with client engineers, backend engineers, and designers to iteratively add features and bring designs to life
You're willing to iterate quickly and develop multiple short-lived prototypes
You have a desire to teach and learn from your peers

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES
British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria): º $115,100 - $161,200 CAN Annually
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
