POSITION SUMMARY

Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to develop student-athletes both academically and athletically. Identifies prospective student-athletes that qualify for admission to the college. Follows all College and Department policies and procedures related to financial operations. Operates program within all College, and NACES guidelines. Serves as primary representative for ESports to both on-campus and off-campus constituencies. Participate in the planning, organizing, and execution of preseason and season practices. Foster a positive team atmosphere and support student athletes’ academic progress, retention, and graduation through mentoring activities and guidance to appropriate support services.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to inquiries from students, College employees and customers, while maintaining standards of confidentiality and privacy, in a timely manner; maintain confidentiality in accordance with the College, FERPA, student records, and any other protected documentation.
  • Respond to faculty, staff, and student inquiries regarding policies, procedures, advising, and student records. Serve as a liaison between the department, faculty, students, and other College administrative staff.
  • Facilitate all facets of practices and competitions.
  • Assist in the monitoring of conditioning programs.
  • Recruit students and maintains specific roster sizes for the program.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Enrollment Management and Academic Advising for recruiting and enrolling prospective student-athletes from point of inquiry through registration.
  • Monitors, assists, and nurtures student-athletes’ academic progress at the college and assists with transfer pathways to four-year institutions if applicable.
  • Assists in the marketing and promotion of the program.
  • Enforces all safety policies and procedures.
  • Performs set-up, tear-down, and storage of equipment.
  • Keeps budget expenditures within agreed upon budget plan each year.
  • Generate external funds as needed for program aspirations and budget augmentation.
  • Maintains inventory of equipment, uniforms, and supplies.
  • Coordinates all team travel and transportation in conjunction with the office of Student Life.
  • Attend on- or off-campus College meetings and serve on departmental and College committees as assigned.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This position is grant funded and wholly contingent upon continuation of external funding. This position may be eliminated or reduced with or without notice, if funding should cease or be reduced.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university required. Minimum of two years of general office and strong customer service experience required. Exhibit excellent English, communication, and composition writing skills. Proficiency in Microsoft® Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) with excellent computer and related technology skills required. Demonstrate the ability to work independently and complete projects with minimal direction and oversight. Must have strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. Previous experience in higher education highly desired. Any combination of work experience, training, and/or education equivalent may be accepted. Willingness to work an irregular schedule as assigned. Ability to successfully pass a background check, prior to and after employment. Valid driver’s license or dependable transportation required.

ADA SPECIFICATIONS

This position is classified as Staff and will perform a wide range of professional and administrative support functions for the college, primarily in an office setting. Further information may be obtained from the Office of Human Resources.
