Insights Department:

The Consumer Insights team works as part of Logitech’s Design group supporting the creation of new and innovative products from inception to launch. As a full service insights team, we provide qualitative, quantitative and strategic support for our business partners.

Role:

You are responsible for ensuring that the company is informed of the important China consumer and tech user insights, foresights and trends that should influence innovation plans, portfolio and marketing strategies.

You will report directly to the Global Head of Consumer Insights. You will work most closely with China Business Group General Manager to support plans for China-first innovation, portfolio and strategy. Other important stakeholders will be the CDO, the CMO and the Heads of all other Business Groups that need to Design for and Market to chinese consumers.

The key to your success will be your ability to combine strong business acumen, research creativity, analytical skills, and strong communication skills. Self-motivation, intellectual curiosity and the capacity to juggle multiple priorities are a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with China BG General Manager to develop and execute a strategic learning agenda to support user centered design and consumer lead marketing.
  • Create strong relationships with the rest of the Consumer Insights team for interdependent research plans and sharing of knowledge.
  • Provide a holistic picture to the company of how the Chinese tech user, and consumer is rapidly evolving in a way that is compelling and incites action.
  • Managing the small Consumer Insights team based in AP currently serving Gaming and C&P BG research needs.
  • Stay up to date with company and other Business Group strategies, learning needs, and learnings so as to effectively lead your AP CI team.
  • Advocating resources need to ensure the AP CI team stays empowered to appropriately deliver against the company needs.
  • External connection with CI professional network to attract recruitment of top talent, to ensure we are able to outsource work to great external partners when workload necessitates and to stay current with best practices in CI.
  • Despite your seniority, you will still be responsible for conducting research yourself: partnering with external agencies to develop research projects that address the business needs; monitor fieldwork and data analysis process.

Qualifications and characteristics:

  • 10+ years experience in Consumer Insights. 5+ years of Consumer Insights experience are in the tech sector.
  • Chinese national, living in China and willing to relocate to Shanghai if not already based there
  • Compelling synthesis, storytelling and presentation skills.
  • Thorough with data and disciplined in drawing conclusions; yet also willing to express personal judgment and help the business make intuitive leaps when necessary.
  • Proven experience in successfully growing and managing teams
  • Breadth of experience across analytics, business and consumer research that serve marketing and design organisations.
  • Small company entrepreneurship attitude vs. large corporation mentality.
  • Personally passionate about pushing China first thinking in a global company.
