Lakshya is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Japanese Translation Manager to join our dynamic team. The Translation Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Japanese language translation projects and ensuring the delivery of high-quality and accurate translations. This role requires a strong command of both Japanese and English languages, excellent project management skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team of translators.
Requirements
Fluency in Japanese (JLPT N1 preferred) and English, with exceptional writing and verbal communication skills in both languages.
Proven experience in managing Japanese translation projects, preferably in a corporate or professional setting.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in leading and mentoring a team of translators.
Deep understanding of translation best practices, linguistic nuances, technical and cultural sensitivities.
Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Plan, organize, and prioritize translation projects to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
Coordinate with various departments to understand project requirements and scope.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks for self and other translators based on their expertise and availability.
Monitor project progress, track milestones, and ensure timely completion.
Update team on the ETA and status etc and escalations to stakeholders as required.
Translation Quality Assurance:
Conduct thorough reviews of translated materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to company standards.
Provide feedback and guidance to translators to maintain a high level of translation quality.
Implement quality assurance measures and best practices to continuously improve translation processes.
Team Leadership and Training:
Recruit, train, and mentor a team of skilled Japanese translators.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to encourage team members' growth and productivity.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and offer constructive feedback to improve individual and team performance.
Vendor Management:
Evaluate and manage relationships with external translation vendors and freelancers.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service level agreements with vendors.
Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with established standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with other departments, such as Marketing, Biz-dev and Customer relations to understand their translation needs and align translation strategies with overall business goals.
Participate in meetings and discussions to provide language-related insights and recommendations.
Technology Utilization:
Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in translation technology and tools to enhance translation efficiency and consistency.
