We are looking for a talented senior backend developer to shape the future of King’s Service Framework that provides the most popular path to build internal back- end services for some of the most popular mobile games in the world such as Candy Crush Saga.
The Service Framework team aims to build and maintain the solutions that make it trivial for developers to create, publish and consume APIs for the services they and others build. Ensure that services built at King can communicate with each other easily and securely. Expressing, publishing and consuming a service API is easy. Security concerns and reliability safeguards are incorporated in the solutions we offer. Developers spend their time writing business logic not implementing service integrations, security constructs or network configurations.
Your role within our Kingdom
As a member of the development team, you will play an important role in influencing how King teams develop their internal applications and services that bring great value to our games. Here are a few examples of the team responsibilities:
Your responsibilities might include:
- Offer the preferred way to express the service API definitions at King
- Offer the preferred way to express and enforce access control on these APIs
- Resolve application- level routing and load balancing the calls from service client to server in a cloud- hybrid compatible way
- Abstract transport and serialization of the payloads in such a way that Golden Path users are unaware of the details and other users are able to easily consume the APIs
- Offer our internal Java back- end framework, as the supported framework for teams building Applications in Kings service ecosystem
Skills to create thrills
- Solid experience with modern Java, including frameworks and standards
- Solid experience developing service APIs
- Good understanding of modern service architecture
- Experience developing applications in the cloud
Bonus points
- Experience with build tools such as Gradle
- Experience running containerized Java application with cloud technologies such as Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, Cloud Build
- Experience of using service discovery solutions in the cloud such as Istio and Consul
- Experience with identity and access management
- Enjoys working in a dev- ops culture
