Requirements
Scope of Role
The role is responsible for activities and processes associated with setting-up, executing and monitoring continuous localization release flow. It involves a deep understanding of tools and processes associated with localization, and LQA specific workflows needed to continuously localize and release game content.
They will:
- To manage all the release cycles of the client’s products.
- To overlook the quality of deliverables and work with the team in prioritizing tasks for each cycle.
- To communicate directly with the development teams to solve issues and remove blockers in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
- Supports Client Loc Producers with the creation of documentation relevant to release-specific processes to enable LQA operations
- May support Client Loc Producers with crafting localization release processes and run books for R&D products
- Makes sure to update and maintain an up-to-date library of documents related to localization release processes for a given product
- Monitor the localization health of release at all times and act as a first responder to any problems
- Maintain a holistic view of release quality and continuously prioritize the various emergent issues that arise
- Actively drive the resolution of bugs and problems by using dedicated tools or communicating with the right teams and stakeholders
- Act as an escalation point for emergent issues during release
- Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality
- Responsible for tracking, reporting, and providing critical analysis on relevant LOC quality KPIs (general KPI trends, LOC bug metrics, etc.)
- Provide regular visibility to both regional and central stakeholders on product health of localization
- Sends out regular reports to provide status updates and highlight risks
- Active involvement in planning Localization QA during project set-up
- Active contributor to test planning process, providing feedback, and coordinating on the vendor side.
- Acts in an advisory capacity on current workload and bandwidth for the testing operation
- Participates in global activities by contributing content and subject matter expertise (in form of trainings, RFCs or other means)
- Participates in training of new testing team members and providing feedback on performance
- Advises on performance
- Coordinates testing strategies and supports with execution
Skills, Knowledge and Ability
Essential
- Tester and Senior Tester experience or equivalent.
- Be open minded and proactively reach to others for their ideas and suggestions.
- Resolves conflicts efficiently with tact and maturity.
- Manages multiple tasks effectively, progresses work in parallel.
- Advanced skills with MS Excel.
- Able to work extra hours/weekends in order to meet Project/Customer milestones.
- Demonstrates a keen eye for errors/inconsistencies in both their own and others contribution, highlighting or amending these as appropriate.
- Experience with JIRA, TTP, DevTrack, and SpiraTest.
- Understanding of Localisation QA and Certification testing processes.
- Understanding of software submission requirements and processes.
- Makes informed decisions based on past experience and input from the team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- The candidate selected will need to be available to work from home.
Desirable
- 3+ years of Video Game industry experience.
- Computer Science or Translation degree or diploma.
- Knowledge of an additional language an asset.
- Familiarity with linguistic and translation databases an asset.
- Experience with internal test tools.
- Passion for video games.
