Program Manager, Esports

The Program Manager, Esports position oversees the daily operation and administration of the Esports Program while reporting to the Associate Director – Sport Programs. This includes the three branches of Premier Teams, Competition Clubs, and Community Engagement. Participation is expected with multiple competitive conferences, on and off campus events, and generalized student programming. Technical ability related to the Esports field is also required in regard to video/broadcast, production, scheduling, and competition administration.

*NOTE This position is based at the Marietta campus of Kennesaw State University, part of the greater Atlanta Area.*

DEPARTMENT-SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Creates and coordinates Kennesaw State University Esports programming that will attract participation from a broad spectrum of students, including Premier intercollegiate competition and esports events for KSU students

2. Coordinates competition for Premier Teams, maintaining the current titles while planning for strategic expansion of the program

3. Provides leadership and direction to the Esports team(s), ensuring effective communication and collaboration

4. Develops and implements comprehensive outreach and recruitment plans for Esports Program, events, and related activities

5. Establishes and oversees the funding process for club-level competition teams

DEPARTMENT-SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Able to apply time management strategies to complete tasks and responsibilities by recognized and assigned deadlines.

• Adapt effectively in situations of change to policies, procedures, work assignments, and culture.

• Strong commitment to teamwork, customer service, ethical leadership, and talent development for student staff members.

• Understanding of Esports operations, including trends, practices, associations, and platforms.

• Proficiency with streaming platforms and video-based media, including Twitch and YouTube.

• Ability to develop and implement Student Esports Program that promotes involvement and contributes to a vibrant social life, encouraging individual development, leadership skills, organizational development, and interpersonal skills.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous supervisory experience.

• Previous experience working with NACE, NECC, and/or other esports conferences.

• Premier Team management experience.

• Experience with collecting data related to Esports programming, participation, and participant satisfaction.

• Knowledge of esports titles associated with the KSU program (list of titles subject to change) – League of Legends, Rocket League, Call of Duty, Counter Strike 2, Apex Legends, Fortnite, Overwatch 2, Rainbow Six Siege, Smash Ultimate, Valorant, Marvel Rivals, Smite 2
