Kalypso Media Japan KK in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, is the new publishing subsidiary of Kalypso Media Group, a privately owned, global, independent developer, marketer, publisher of interactive entertainment software with more than 130 employees worldwide, operating from eight offices across the United States, Germany (Headquarter), the United Kingdom and now Japan.

To manage the localization related activities in Japan with the internal and external teams in the HQ and the development studios, we are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic (Senior) Localization Manager (m/f/d), working from the new office in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. The Localization Manager gives support and is reporting to the Representative Director and will work closely with QA & Localization teams in Europe and North America.

Roles and Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

Main responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute all localization activities in Japan with HQ, the studios and localization vendors including the translation, the debugging, age ratings and the arrangements/submissions with first parties (Sony, Nintendo etc.)
  • Manage the schedule related with the release dates, production lead times and marketing activities
  • Provide the information about the title to business, marketing and customer support team

Skills and Experience:

  • Good experience (>3 years) in a games industry localization role (English to Japanese localization)
  • Experience to arrange the settings with first parties (Sony, Nintendo etc.)
  • Fluent both Japanese (native level) and English skill
  • Degree-level qualification or similar
  • Ability to manage the project handling
  • Motivated self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong internal and external communication skills
  • Able to work as part of a small, dynamic team and handle multiple projects in parallel
  • Flexibility to travel both domestically and internationally
