Responsibilities

  • Set standards and direction for the creation of wireframes, style guides, user flows, information architecture diagrams, prototypes, mockups, and final UI assets.
  • Mentor the department in conceptualizing and articulating ideas designed to solve complex design problems, minimize player pain points, and elevate UX/UI in our products beyond industry standards.
  • Establish the vision for and oversee the concepting of potential UI styles and UX flows for new games and features.
  • Work with engineers to design and create next-level internal tools.
  • Ensure UX and UI consistency, where appropriate, across all titles.
  • Provide high-level mentorship for all UX/UI Designers in the studio.
  • Conduct market research and evaluate trends in competing games.
  • Work directly with the Consumer Insights team to develop and implement standardized processes and schedules for user testing on new titles.
  • Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers, product owners, and executives.
  • Train UX/UI Designers in internal and external tools, workflows and standard processes, and industry best practices.
  • Establish and promote best practices, and educate others by orchestrating and setting agendas for departmental knowledge sharing and best practices meetings.
  • Envision and execute the building of a true UX/UI community in the studio to level up and give a voice to the designers.
  • Evaluate UX/UI resource allocation across the company; hire and re-allocate designers as necessary.
  • Work closely with Recruiting and HR departments to find and hire the best UX/UI talent.
  • Manage and balance projects across the department to ensure the delivery of optimal user experiences for all titles.
  • Evangelize UX and UI across the company.

Qualifications

  • 8+ yrs of relevant experience on a mobile game with at least 2+ years in a Lead capacity.
  • Extensive portfolio featuring both behind-the-scenes UX designs and final, polished UI assets.
  • Extensive experience in management and leadership of mid- to large-sized UX/UI teams.
