Job Purpose:

A Community Manager at Jagex will execute community-focused campaigns, designed to empower and engage our players across multiple communication touchpoints, from newsposts to social media.They will represent our players’ collective voice to the wider Development and Publishing teams, and represent Jagex to our player-base, aiming to grow and nurture online communities of different types of player.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate and manage Jagex’s community platforms including forums and social media profiles.
  • Manage and administrate our variety of player communities, as well as influencers and partners.
  • Act as a brand evangelist, maintaining a deep understanding of game content, and publishing activities in order to promote them to our player communities.
  • Liase with the product team, taking an active role in in steering development of game content and publishing activities, and acting as a customer stakeholder in decisions.
  • Schedule, manage and feature in broadcasted media including livestreams, videos and podcasts.
  • Monitor and report on community sentiment and engagement, liaising with outsourced Community Management and feeding back to the studio-wide team.
  • Assist in the creation, development and management of compelling in-game and real-world events, competitions and strategies to connect players and communities.
  • Support brand activity as part of the Publishing and product groups.
  • Act as the champion of the player, representing and communicating for the studio to our players, and for the players to the studio.

Skills and Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Deep knowledge of Old School RuneScape. Feels at home in Gielinor and knows about its communities.
  • Strong organisational and campaign-planning skills, with a keen eye for detail and trends.
  • Creative-problem solving.
  • Plays games!
  • Experience and practical knowledge of live streaming and written content creation.
  • Experience and practical knowledge of all major social media and video distribution platforms.
  • Prior and relevant experience of community management or social media communications experience.
