The University is seeking an Assistant Director for Club and IM Sports to assist in the administration of a comprehensive and vibrant student experience focused on student development, including recreational activities.. The University seeks an experienced, student-oriented professional of the highest integrity, who will foster excellent working relationships with all constituents of the University community, and provide exceptional service. This is a 12-month, full-time position, reporting directly to the Director of Recreation & Operations.

Essential Job Duties

Club and IM Sports Development and Leadership

  • Develop and administer all Cub Sports program policies and procedures
  • Responsible for planning, implementing and ongoing supervision of the JAX U eSports program.
    • Manage eSports membership in NACeSports
  • Coordinate the maintenance, supervision, scheduling, and planning for Club Sport and IM programs.
  • Coordinate facility scheduling and promote safe environments for program participants and spectators
  • Maintain, coordinate and update use of IMleagues
  • Generate program reports for participation, injuries, incidents and assist in assessment
  • Provide leadership and support to the sport club program regarding decision making, responsibility, organizational dynamics, teamwork, conflict resolution and creating a positive culture
  • Coordinate the addition of newly formed clubs.
  • Coordinate student travel processes
  • Develop curriculum and conduct teaching/instructional workshops/trainings for club sport officers
  • Coordinate scheduling and monitoring of Club Sports
  • Travel with Club Sport teams once a semester to serve as a liaison for the team at an away competition
  • Perform on-site visits to Club Sport practices/try-outs
  • Assist in marketing and promoting Club sports and Intramurals
  • Develop organizational support for Club Sports
  • Budget Management Including: facilitation of eSports and club Sports Budgets, student employment pay tracking and bi-weekly approvals
  • Conducts annual assessment for programming effectiveness and satisfaction
  • Direct oversight of Graduate Assistant for IM Sports

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree, plus 2 years of related experience -or- Bachelor’s degree in a field related to Recreation, Sport Administration, Health/Physical Education and or Exercise Science plus 3 years of related experience. Related professional work experience to include:
    • Programming experience
    • Supervision
    • Organizational tasks and training
    • Program Budges
    • Risk Management procedures
    • Professional working experience in the administration of comprehensive Club Sport program
  • Supervisory experience and the ability to advise diverse student groups;
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully balance, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in an active, fast-paced environment, while providing superior constituent service;
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented, student-centered environment; and
  • Excellent oral, written, computer, problem-solving, critical thinking, and fiscal management skill.
