The journey still needs some work. Currently, transactions take minutes or hours to confirm, and Ethereum can process fewer than 5 NFTs per second for the whole world combined.

To solve this problem, we have created a first-of-its-kind exchange, Immutable X. This is the first layer-2 scaling solution for NFTs on Ethereum, with instant trade confirmation, massive scalability, and zero gas fees, without compromising user custody.

A bit about the role:

As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, you will work in a high performing and passionate team focused on taking our flagship game asset exchange "Immutable X" to as many players and gamers as possible. You'll help them build innovative growth features and incentive schemes to maximise this expansion. You'll have a lot of flexibility in terms of tools, technology and architecture: most of your goals will be product-driven rather than tech-driven.

You will play an integral part on the Immutable X product, personally working on both frontend and backend features, but you will also be involved in product design and development. You'll help the team estimate, prioritise and scope features, and contribute to product discussions at all stages of development.

You will have the opportunity to:

Scale our system from thousands of requests per minute to tens of thousands per second
Contribute to team planning and product design sessions
Help estimate and prioritise proposed features
Iterate features quickly in response to customer feedback
Create tools that allow others on the Go-To-Market team to scale up
Work with a modern stack which includes Restful APIs, AWS Services, Kubernetes, Serverless, Terraform, PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch
Help scale breakthrough blockchain technology

We would love you to have:

3 + years of deep engineering experience as a full-stack developer
The ability to work comfortably across a range of technologies and are flexible to adapt to the shifting demands of the role
Previously worked in an environment with high-load Restful APIs and event-driven architectures
Excellent knowledge of software engineering best practices such as Clean Code / SOLID principles
The motivation to deliver a fantastic product to our users
Effective communication skills to enable you to work closely with your team and a high degree of synchronisation about goals and strategy

If you possess skills in two or more of the following, we'd love to talk to you:

Typescript or Golang programming languages
Any statically typed languages such as Java, .Net, C++, OCaml, Haskell, Scala
A dynamically typed language such as Python, javascript, Ruby, Clojure

Some extra skills that would be awesome:

Curiosity about AWS infrastructure and keen to learn DevOps practices
An interest in blockchain (development, usage or academic)
