A bit about the role

We are looking for a Lead Engineer who will have full ownership and accountability for platform frontend development. This includes all consuming-facing components of our Platform offering, including our marketplace for in-game assets and our wallet for asset ownership. Because this team directly drives user engagement, it is incredibly important within the company, and we’re looking for someone fantastic to fill this role.

You will work with other engineering leaders to make large-scale choices about the future technical strategy of the platform as a whole. You may also be asked to take on personnel management responsibilities in future, but it is not a core component of the role at the moment.

Here’s how you’ll contribute:

As a Lead Engineer at Immutable, you’ll be responsible for:

Building high quality features with well engineered solutions
Owning the frontend technical designs, architecture and roadmap
Facilitating collective idealisation, socialising, designing and planning of technical design proposals in the team
Participating in planning, scoping and product design sessions
Being the go to person for frontend team
Accelerating integration by designing middleware, tooling and social contracts
Improving consistency of frontend implementation utilising design system

Technology stack:

We don’t need you to know anything about the blockchain: we have in-house experts who can teach you everything you need to know about Ethereum. You also don’t need to know anything about game development! We do need to you be able to work with our pre-existing stack:

Typescript, React, Redux, Redux Saga on the frontend, with strong CSS/SASS skills

It’s desirable if you have experience architecting middleware and know node.js or golang

You are an extremely capable frontend developer. You have strong framework and styling experience, to enable you to create world-class frontend products
You are comfortable creating technical designs from scratch and reviewing those produced by other engineers
You are motivated to deliver an amazing product to our users
You take ownership of any problems faced by the team, and work effectively to eliminate them
You are able to integrate cutting-edge technology into our stack to allow us to remain market leading
You are able to design solutions with a strategic mindset
You are able to understand the underlying business objectives, limitations and risks, and identify the appropriate technical solutions and sequencing
