The role will assist our day-to-day content producers and operators of our teams social channels. This person must have excellent communication skills, be able to help with copywriting, and stay organized when interfacing with internal teams. This individual must be able to work at lightning speed and may at times be relied upon to capture content on a phone or hand-held camera. The intern should have a knack for social channel nuances and understand and/or add to the existing team platform overviews and roles.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Content Creation & Management
    • Add value and creative insight for our brand voice and community engagement, creating messages and replies for team social channels, sometimes acting as a community manager and copywriter.
    • Assist in development and ongoing management of a social content calendar accounting for all anticipated social content and tentpoles.
    • Be an ally to design team peers by ensuring they have all information and assets needed to produce content - may require interfacing with other members of other departments.
    • Work closely with the content team to assist in developing plans to support tentpole moments and ensure social and YouTube strategies are complementary.
    • Be a brief writer when necessary, to translate or help facilitate ideas for content producers (design or content team).
    • Be a content creator to the extent of your abilities; may entail light photo/video editing on phone or computer and/or being a shooter on a phone or hand-held camera.
  • Marketing Strategy
    • Have a complete and thorough understanding of the brand voice and identity document and lead any updates if necessary.
    • Be an expert on social platform capabilities, best practices, and new developments - work with the Director of Marketing and Social Coordinators to develop how teams will use social channels.
    • Assist in optimizing strategy based on quantitative and qualitative data signals, have a firm understanding of priority metrics and KPIs for all campaigns (paid and organic).
    • Be a constant source for proactive marketing ideas (content, campaign, new platforms etc…).
    • Keep up to date on all team, league, and fanbase conversations around Teams, League, Game, and Gaming culture.

Requirements

  • Experience in social media, including experience across major and upcoming platforms.
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite, with the ability to edit.
  • Experience cutting and editing highlight clips for social/digital.
  • Acute attention to detail with copy/grammar and design.
  • Passion and experience for engaging and building an authentic communityExtensive knowledge and passion for esports, OWL, LCS, and other competitive leagues.
