Summary

Game Floor Hosts are responsible for the initial warm greeting and seating of guests, taking payment, answering phones, and assisting guests throughout their visit. Game Floor Hosts are expected to use video game industry and technical knowledge to deliver a unique gaming and hospitality experience.

Position Responsibilities/Functions

The responsibilities of this position will include, but is not limited to:

  • Provide consistent and exceptional guest service.
  • Ensure all guests are receiving a premium experience through in-depth interaction and proactive engagement during their visit.
  • Communicate cordially, effectively and clearly with all team members, managers, and guests.
  • Accurately process sales through POS.
  • Be well versed in all of the products, services, and events the lounge has to educate guests and make informed suggestions.
  • Make sure gaming stations and controllers are properly sanitized, cleared, and reset.
  • Check and maintain restrooms, garbage cans, and overall lounge cleanliness.
  • Assure quality of Ignite’s product by assessing equipment (controllers, PC peripherals, chairs/furniture, computers and consoles, and software/games) condition regularly. Properly reporting if conditions are substandard.
  • Be proficient in the use and operation of all necessary tools and equipment, including the POS and all accompanying software and phone etiquette.

  • Position requires prolonged standing, bending, and lifting products and supplies.
  • Be able to work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Understanding of computer and console hardware (Xbox, PS4, Wii U, Switch) and game software (Steam, Battle.net, Origin, Uplay, etc.)
  • Understanding of the gaming and esports industry.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service, restaurant, or retail.
