We are looking for a backend Engineer who will be responsible for building new features, improving existing features, and writing well-tested, clean code in Java. You will work directly with the CTO and Project Manager to plan sprints in an agile work environment. Building Hover is a highly collaborative effort, and as such, a strong team player with commitment to perfection is required.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of software development experience
• 3+ years experience with Spring Framework, JPA, Hibernate, and REST APIs
• 3+ years experience using AWS, especially RDS, EC2, Lambda, S3, Beanstalk, CodePipeline, and CloudWatch
• 3+ years experience with MySQL
• Experience with HLS

Responsibilities:

• Convert high level business requirements into implementation
• Write well designed test cases using JUnit
• Identify design weaknesses and design new approaches to features that need improvement
• Document all aspects of your work
• Work independently to deliver software on time
• Train, mentor, and collaborate with other team members to ensure our teams maintain high standards
• Keep up with technology changes in our space and leverage them when appropriate
