ABOUT OUR COMPANY
Originally a volunteer passion project that aimed to provide a home to people looking to work in the esports industry and a place for hiring companies to find endemic talent, Hitmarker is now the largest job platform in esports and the video game industry.
Before COVID-19 struck, we were a team of 10 full-time staff working from our office in Newcastle upon Tyne, which is in the far north of England. These days, we’re a team of 10 full-time staff working 100% remotely from two continents (Europe and South America).
Everyone at Hitmarker genuinely cares about helping people and making esports and the wider video game industry a better, more inclusive place. That’s why we’re all here living the startup life and working diligently day-in, day-out to provide the best service possible.
We’ve just smashed our second equity crowdfunding campaign funding target and are now looking to add five more full-time staff to our team. We’re hoping to find more dedicated and upstanding humans who want to be part of something that’s truly one of a kind.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
Are you the Designer we’re looking for to help us take our visual content to the next level?
The successful candidate will elevate our brand identity by creating best-in-class infographics, marketing assets, partnership decks, and more.
The ideal candidate would be a gamer and existing Hitmarker user who has a strong eye for detail, is used to serving a professional audience, and is capable of working with data.
This position is open to anyone based anywhere in the world and no formal qualifications are required to apply. Dedication, honesty, and reliability are all imperative, though.
The Designer will work closely with our Creative Lead and will receive support from all members of our team.
The role is offered (1) on a full-time employee basis to anyone legally able to live and work in the UK or (2) on an independent contractor basis to anyone not legally able to live and work in the UK. Candidates (1) local to or (2) willing and legally able to relocate to our headquarters in Newcastle upon Tyne, England will be given preference, however.
The salary offered is £17,290 in year one. The role comes with 28 paid holiday days each year and equity is on offer following a year of service.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
We already have a strong brand identity, but we’re looking for you to come in and take our game to the next level by:
Creating best-in-class infographics that tell a clear story and use our proprietary data in new and intelligent ways.
Producing exceptional marketing assets to promote Hitmarker, jobs from hiring companies, content from our partners, and more.
Constructing outstanding decks that sell our company to prospective partners and progress reports that keep our hundreds of investors in the loop.
Contributing to our UI/UX efforts on Hitmarker by coming up with ideas and sharing wireframes to illustrate them to our web developers.
Working with the Founder and Creative Lead on all elements of our company’s brand identity and enhancing our brand guidelines.
WHO YOU ARE
We’re not prioritising professional experience or qualifications, but we are looking for a very specific type of human to fill this role. You should be:
A gamer. You don’t need to play a specific title on a particular device. You don’t need to be any good. You just need to love gaming and care about this industry.
A Hitmarker user. If you’re already familiar with who we are and what we do it’ll make your life so much easier from your very first day working with us.
Detail-oriented. We talk about being “pixel perfect” internally and that’s what we strive for. We want you to pay extreme attention to the little things.
Professional. You should feel comfortable working with professional clients and creating content for a professional audience.
Data-savvy. Hitmarker has a huge amount of proprietary data that carries with it an enormous amount of value. We need you to help us show it to the world.
A communicator. You can get your point across clearly, concisely, and politely, whether you’re writing or talking on the phone, on a video call, or face-to-face.
A team player. You work with people, not against them. A lot of what we do requires our team to work closely together to produce the best possible outcomes.
Dedicated. For 35 hours a week, you come to work to do work. We don’t expect you to live and breathe Hitmarker, we just want you to care when you’re here.
Honest. If you’ve got a problem, you’re not afraid to air it. If you can’t do something, you’re upfront about it. If you need help with something, you ask for it.
Reliable. You show up on time and ready to go. If you say you’re going to do a job, it gets done. If you’ve got a deadline, you do whatever you can to meet it.
WHAT YOU’LL GET
Regardless of whether you join us as a full-time employee or a full-time freelancer, you'll receive benefits in addition to your salary:
The real living wage of £9.50 per hour. We work 35 hours per week, so this equates to an annual salary of £17,290.
28 days of paid holiday per year, inclusive of bank holidays, plus your birthday off (or a bonus day off if your birthday falls on an existing holiday)!
Entry into our NEST employee pension scheme. (UK-based employees only.)
Entry into our staff equity scheme after one year of service.
Annual salary and commission reviews with increases based on performance.
