Haven joined the PlayStation Studios family in 2022, and we are on track to build an exclusive new IP for Playstation and grow the first Sony game development team in Canada.

Position: Training and Development Specialist

Haven, a vibrant and cutting-edge game studio, is seeking a creative Training and Development Specialist to join our team. As the Training and Development Specialist at Haven, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the growth and success of our talented team. You'll actively contribute to the development and maintenance of our unique learning culture, collaborating with subject-matter experts and vendors to design and deliver innovative learning and development solutions aligned with Haven’s needs.

Reporting: The Training and Development Specialist will report to the HR Director

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with studio leaders and HR to develop career maps and pathing, enabling our employees to navigate their professional journeys successfully.

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to growing teams, supporting their personal and professional growth within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

  • Determine and implement a studio-wide learning and development strategy and approach, ensuring it integrates seamlessly with our talent and capability strategy.

  • Deliver engaging and impactful management and leadership training to cultivate strong leadership skills within our organization.

  • Identify and manage external learning and development vendors, ensuring we have access to the best resources and expertise in the industry.

  • Conduct regular training needs assessments, keeping abreast of business-critical development requirements and staying attuned to emerging trends in the entertainment and technology industries.

  • Foster a continuous learning mindset by exploring new and innovative ways to enhance professional development and industry-standard processes.

  • Champion the company's culture, values, and diversity, equity, and inclusion agendas, ensuring they are reflected in all learning initiatives.

  • Design foundational technical programs aligned with our most pressing business needs, working closely with our programmers, artists, game designers, QA leaders, and producers to create curriculum that shapes the future of the industry, our games, and player expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Deep learning and development experience within a business environment.

  • Passion for enabling employees to reach their full potential and excel in their roles.

  • Prior experience in the gaming, technology, or entertainment industry is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum for a highly technical workforce would be a significant advantage.

  • Exceptional leadership and coordination skills, with a focus on operational excellence, performance improvement, and guest service.

  • Strong analytical abilities to assess training operations and align them with performance expectations.

  • Proactive involvement in planning, reviewing, and developing performance management processes.

  • Collaborative mindset to identify and address departmental performance challenges alongside management.

  • Degree in Human Resources, management, business administration or a related field

  • 5 + years of Experience leading training programs (ideally in the entertainment or high tech industries)
