ROLE OVERVIEW

Due to rapid expansion, Green Man Gaming are now looking for a Business Development professional to build a solid pipeline for medium and long term growth. You love games, can spot potential, and have the network, gravitas and gaming knowledge to attract Independent developers to our team.

The market is highly competitive, so you will need to be ambitious, highly entrepreneurial and an extremely personable self-starter. You are a prolific networker and able to build an active sales pipeline from prospect to client. This role relies on a high level of resilience and commercial acumen.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for identifying and managing leads, pitching commercial terms, and closing deals. A successful candidate will deliver significant incremental revenue and growth.

You won’t be alone. This role connects to every area of our business, working hand in hand with the executive management team and specialist departments of the business (Marketing, Publishing & Commercial) - meaning there is huge scope to build a diverse range of experience & skills in every component of the eCommerce machine.

Requirements

KEY DELIVERABLES

  • BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY & EXECUTION: You can leverage your network to identify & source new games for Green Man Gaming Publishing that are aligned with the overall business acquisition strategy.
  • Working closely with the wider BD and Publishing team you will engage with Studios and Developers to: pitch for, negotiate and close top line terms for new publishing contracts
  • Once terms are agreed, you will present and work with the publishing team to take titles to and through the ‘green light’ process.
  • You understand the industry, and can spot content gaps in our current retail portfolio and acquire these titles for retail & global distribution
  • MARKET & CONSUMER UNDERSTANDING: You love games, you love the people that make them, you love the people that play them. You harness this insight to prepare and give business reviews to the senior management regarding progress and roadblocks.
  • COMMERCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: You support the commercial forecast and P&L, you can spot, secure and close potential opportunities

YOU HAVE:

  • GAMES INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE: You are (extremely) well connected, and well respected in the industry. You have an in-depth (and hands on) understanding of our industry in particular digital distribution, and the digital video game ecosystems
  • COMMERCIAL ACUMEN: You are entrepreneurial and have a commercial mindset. By building and managing existing/new relationships with partners you can spot opportunity, close it and drive upside.
  • COMMUNICATION: You will need to be extremely confident, a clear communicator & presenter, comfortable with internal & external stakeholder management & can provide regular updates and presentations to senior management.
  • CONTRACTS AND LICENCING: You can negotiate deals, find your way around a contract and ideally understand the world of copyright, licensing and royalties.
  • INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE: You have global experience, and connections with decision makers and developers.
  • ORGANISED: You are happy working independently and willing to roll your sleeves up if needed. You can prioritise effectively across a wide set of workstreams and deliver flexibly to tight deadlines where necessary.
