Hi! Graffiti Games is looking for short-term contract help from an experienced UI artist to assist on one of our upcoming titles, World’s Worst Handyman.

In this role, you’ll be working remotely to help create the visual design of the User Interface and other 2D assets that might be used to engage players and polish the overall user experience. Your creativity, diligence, and strong work ethic will greatly contribute to the game having a more polished and enjoyable player experience.

About World’s Worst Handyman:

World’s Worst Handyman is a slapstick stealth sandbox game that has players helping the hapless handyman, Doug, as he dodges workplace hazards and solves puzzles to earn enough money to save all the critters at the local animal shelter. Unfortunately, Doug is not exactly the best at his job…

Revel in the accidental destruction caused by Doug’s “repairs” as he stealthily finds the tools and items needed in order to complete the tasklist and attempt to save the day.

What we’re looking for in a UI Artist:

As the project’s UI artist, you’ll create the high-quality art that will be used in the game’s visual elements (menus, icons, HUD, dialog boxes, etc.), as well as other core interface features.

With your experience added to the mix, we’re looking for you to create fantastic art that will support the overall design of the game.

Skills & Requirements

  • 2+ years of game industry experience (professional work only, please!)

  • Have worked on a launched/shipped title previously (PC, console, mobile, etc.)

  • Strong graphic design skills and Photoshop experience

  • Familiarity with popular game engines (Unity, Unreal, etc.)

  • Able to implement UI designs into the Unity game engine is a plus

  • Good at handling work solo and not needing a ton of oversight

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Responsibilities

  • Draft mockups and wireframes to communicate your vision and get feedback from the team

  • Design and create the high-quality art assets that will be implemented in-game

  • Design UI assets to be scalable across common desktop resolutions and aspect ratios

  • Attend relevant team meetings and participate in discussion channels

  • Take data provided by QA and playtesting teams to iterate and improve on the experience

Compensation

Length of Contract: 3-4 months, Part-Time

Salary: Varies depending on technical ability, experience level, and location.
