Minimum qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in a technical leadership position and with shipped titles within the game industry.
  • Experience with the optimization and architecture of video game technology and development.
  • Experience recruiting and building teams and delegating and motivating technical experts.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge relating to the optimization and architecture of Video Game technology and development.
  • Ability to lead through influence, manage remote teams and build partnerships.
  • Demonstrated organization, communication and priority management skills.
  • Effective leadership skills, with an ability to motivate diverse teams in a fast paced changing environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.

As a Technical Director at Stadia, you'll be responsible for defining the technical strategy for our Second Party produced games. You'll become an expert in the new Stadia platform, direct external teams to fully leverage the unique capabilities of that platform and help those teams reach their product goals.

Responsibilities

  • Define the technological vision for a global portfolio of externally developed exclusive games.
  • Define the tech budgets in collaboration with the platform team and suggest improvements to tools and workflows to guarantee efficiency for partner teams.
  • Represent Stadia Games and Entertainment as the most senior technical contact for external studios.
  • Help define internal R&D priorities as well as new Stadia platform features to best support innovation in exclusive second party games.
  • Ensure that there is proper documentation and communication of workflows and best practices so that second party development teams are properly trained and can work in a way that is consistent and streamlined.
