We’re the largest competitive gaming organization serving high schools and educational institutions in North America, focused on making esports available to every student as a legitimate sport in schools throughout the U.S. We achieve this by making it easy for faculty to offer students the chance to engage in healthy esports competition, surrounded by peers while supervised by teachers. We’re on the verge of transforming youth athletics for generations to come. Generation Esports is a technology company at its core, building a platform to service youth competitive esports from young kids to college students. We’re looking for someone with a passion for customer retention and email marketing. This candidate will work across departments to not only improve the performance of their email marketing campaigns, but also provide actionable data for other teams that will assist in overall user retention.

Role Responsibilities

  • Oversee and optimize email campaign strategies to drive customer retention and sales, including lifecycle emails, personalized triggers, and daily campaigns
  • Provide regular reporting and analysis on email campaign performance with clear direction to the team on what they can try to do differently to drive increased performance
  • Create messaging strategies that support our company’s brands and business goals, compels the audience to take action, and drives both retention and acquisition
  • Develop engaging and concise copy for a variety of marketing materials
  • Define and implement the testing agenda for email including segmentation, messaging, frequency, send day/time, personalization, etc
  • Work with the community manager, product team, and support team to aggregate actionable customer feedback to shape the product roadmap
  • Assist in the development of tools and resources for success team to use in their initiatives and daily workflow
  • Create and update web pages for internal campaigns and partnership deliverables
  • Familiar with Customer Data Platforms like Segment and API tools like Zapier to connect data from different sources to best segment customer data

Qualifications

  • 3-4+ years of email marketing experience, preferably at an agency
  • Expert knowledge in creating responsive emails using HTML and drag-and-drop tools
  • Experience analyzing customer profiles, segmenting, and creating automation workflows
  • Comfortable working with CRM, email marketing, and analytics tools
  • An understanding of the esports space
  • A desire to learn and grow your skills
  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing or relevant working experience
  • You’re located in Kansas City or willing to move
