What we are looking for

Gearbox Software is looking for a full-time Tools Programmer to join our game development team.  As a member of the Tools Team, you will implement solutions not only for one game, but that will be shared across multiple game projects.

Responsibilities

  • Implement solution to improve the workflow of artists and designers, with a focus on open world technology, procedural content generation and automation
  • Enhance and maintain tools systems used by all projects
  • Interact with project team members to gather, interpret, and discuss design requirements
  • Assist users in identifying and resolving tool and/or workflow issues

Qualifications

  • Computer Science degree and 3+ years experience in professional software development
  • Advanced C++ skills
  • Proficient C# skills
  • Ability to design flexible, extensible, and performant software
  • Excellent debugging skills
  • Excellent UI/UX design skills
  • Excellent creative problem solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have

  • Experience with Unreal Engine 5.x
  • Background in creating and maintaining tools systems
  • Experience working in large codebases.
