We are looking for a Product Owner for a new esports company co-owned by MRG and Gamingzone Entertainment

MRG and Gamingzone Entertainment have established a joint venture to create a new community for esports fans with focus on entertainment, news and gaming possibilities. The market for esports is growing rapidly and the new company will have a clear and well defined focus.

The position

The Product Owner of the new esports company will be responsible for driving, coordinating and project managing (both internally and third parties) the tech parts in building and developing the new esports product with a wish to constantly improve and achieve high goals to be the best in its class globally. You will lead and structure the continuous development of the product, together with the CEO, and close the gap between stakeholders, partners and development teams by handling requirements from project start until reception & evaluation. As a product owner, you own all functional requirements and take lead on orchestrating the agile development processes. More responsibilities in detail:

  • Plan and align product deliverables from all development teams with marketing initiatives, package releases and assist stakeholders with reception and adoption of new features and functionality developed.
  • Constantly monitor and act on set product performance KPI’s and success metrics
  • Manage change management and certification procedures, where applicable.
  • Facilitate product backlog priority setting and its backlog items in alignment with Development Roadmap
  • Identify and own production issues and see for resolution of these for all product platforms
  • Follow and benchmark competitors and other inspirational businesses

Qualifications

Documented experience of:

  • Driving technical digital projects for 3-4 year and solid experience of product and software development
  • Working with and developing online gaming and/or e-commerce products
  • Agile product development processes and prioritization, and agile methodologies such as scrum, kanban
  • An understanding of the value of A/B testing, MVP development in order to ship new feature fast to market and test rather than building the perfect version at once
  • Digital publishing/marketing and its operations
  • Working with news, content and SEO
  • Jira, Trello or eqv product planning softwares
  • Google Analytics or equivalent web analytics tools
  • A university degree in computer science and management or adjacent field
  • Clear communicator in both verbal and written English
  • Willing to travel when required in your role
