Reporting to the Studio Manager, the Studio Marketing Director plays a key role in leading the studio’s Marketing teams, who decide how the games produced at the studio are taken to market and find their audiences.

At the Montreal studio, there are several ongoing projects in the creation phase, including mobile games and a cross-platform title that will also be released on PC and console.

For these reasons, the Studio Marketing Director's role is a crucial one. They ensure the best possible handling of marketing responsibilities across all channels and touchpoints (PR, featurings, social, influencers, partnerships, etc.), the sharing of best practices, and the raising of the strategic and creative bars—all while addressing higher-level topics and launching ad hoc initiatives to make our games more popular, increase our downloads, and ensure engagement for our gamers.

The successful candidate must make the most of their leadership skills, strategic thinking, creative ideas, execution experience, organizational efficiency, and excellent communication skills. They will be comfortable with both team management and coordination, as well as with more hands-on and operational missions. We also expect them to impact their team’s games and projects through their personal and direct contributions to key marketing deliverables, activations and strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the marketing strategy for our cross-platform titles and spearheading PC/console activations
  • Determining the studio’s marketing mindset and directing expertise throughout games' life cycles from initial ideation, into game development and live operations across all platforms (mobile, PC, and console)
  • Managing the studio's Marketing teams (Product Marketing Managers, Game Community Managers, Marketing Artists, etc.) and making sure those teams are working at their best as part of the wider game teams
  • Raising the bar for strategic thinking linked to superior, integrated creative execution, which in turn impacts game downloads, DAUs and revenues
  • Helping teams to articulate marketing plans that really connect and synchronize all marketing activities (UA, social, influencers, partnerships, featurings, etc.) to manage both the game's always-on and peak moments, catering to the game community as well as to prospective consumers
  • Taking the operational lead on key or complex topics when they call for a high level of seniority or expertise (e.g. budget building, defining overarching marketing strategy and launch tactics, negotiations with agencies, managing large-scale campaigns, etc.)
  • Acting as the studio's main contact for all marketing topics discussed between studio management and HQ
  • Helping to establish objectives and to adapt and implement the global marketing framework and processes locally, in order to measure and improve the execution of our actions (marketing operations, featurings, partnerships, ASO, etc.)
  • Analyzing marketing strategies and execution on a continuous basis and challenging the team to come up with innovative, customer-driven marketing tactics to increase performance across all networks and platforms
  • Keeping your finger on the pulse of changes in the market, identifying best practices from various sources, and deploying them when and where relevant to make sure the team's work always responds to market trends
  • When relevant, helping to ensure that working relationships with internal teams and external partners (special ops, license owners, etc.) remain smooth and efficient
  • Hiring, training, managing and evaluating the performance of the studio’s Marketing team

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8-10 years in a marketing position, with at least 2 years’ experience managing a team
