Job Description

As the Senior Software Architect, you will help deliver many applications as part of an aaS model to fully automate the management of the company's programmatic needs. You will be a part of the infrastructure team, whether for on-premise or public-cloud tasks. You will also act as a bridge between team members by assisting, supporting and advising them to increase their understanding of cloud-native architecture.

Responsibilities And Expectations

  • Working with software developers, technical leaders and product owners from many different teams
  • Providing timeline estimates and contributing to project planning
  • Taking responsibility for software and data architecture, which includes the ongoing re-engineering and modification of the existing architecture
  • Evaluating the feasibility of alternative directions for future architecture/platforms
  • Conducting effective code and architecture reviews to ensure security, scalability and resilience
  • Providing strategic, tactical software solutions
  • Creating technology roadmaps, generating technical-direction strategies, and determining the impacts of such strategies as they relate to enhancing the overall architecture
  • Communicating complex technical concepts in ways that audiences from diverse disciplines can understand

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience as a software architect
  • Bachelor's degree, plus a degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • Experience with microservices, distributed systems, and data and object modeling
  • Experience with big data, cloud, integration, messaging, and information security in the designing and building of software applications using various languages/tools (TypeScript, Python, Kotlin)
  • Experience with SQL and scalable distributed systems
  • Significant working experience in the areas of DevOps, databases, API integrations, and algorithm development
  • Experience with CI/CD
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
  • Experience with AWS (or any other major public cloud-infrastructure provider)
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong ability to communicate
  • Proactive and independent
  • Meticulous and focused on code quality, with an ability to work quickly and under pressure
  • Team player with great interpersonal skills

Additional Beneficial Experience

  • Experience with PaaS
  • Clear understanding of the DevOps mindset
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment and in Scrum
  • Experience with open-source tools (Terraform, Helm, Grafana, Elastic Stack, Loki)
