Job Description

Gameloft Bucharest is on the hunt for passionate Game Design Interns!

Are you enthusiastic about the gaming industry and familiar with scripting in Unreal Engine Blueprints? Have you always wanted to turn your creative ideas into games? This is your chance to be part of a dynamic environment, collaborating with a team mentored by our top seniors in the studio.

From the beginning of your journey with us, you will:

  • Create and iterate on game and level designs, potentially starting from existing designs

  • Use Unreal Engine blueprints to script game mechanics

  • Collaborate with programmers and other colleagues to integrate designs into the game

  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss progress and brainstorm ideas

  • Conduct playtesting sessions and gather feedback to refine designs

  • Learn how to form an independent team with your fellow interns, working on turning pitches into prototypes

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Unreal Engine

  • Basic understanding of game and level design principles

  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine blueprints for scripting

  • Understanding of player experience and game mechanics

  • Good English communication skills (spoken and written)

  • Interest and history with games across various genres and platforms, and good media culture (movies, TV shows).

Nice to Have:

  • Portfolio showcasing relevant work

  • Prior experience in personal or academic game development projects

  • Exposure to other game engines or design tools

  • Basic knowledge of game design documentation and processes, UX design principles

The internship will last for 3 months and will start in September. It will be part-time (4 hours/day) and hybrid (2 days in the office/week).
