Your Mission in Funcom

As a Technical Animator Intern, you will be working closely with the animators, character artists and programmers to work with and refine our animation systems, animations, and character state systems in Unreal. You will support the animation pipeline, as well as rigging and skinning characters.

How you can have an impact in your position:

  • Work with the environment team to help rig and animate props and weapons

  • Help to work with facial animation pipelines and rigs

  • Work with character artists and animators helping skinning and rigging of characters

  • Set up cloth and hair simulations

  • Analyze, troubleshoot and solve animation-related technical challenges

  • Additional duties include assisting with content creation for game development and assisting with quality control of all products

We are looking for you to have:

  • Familiar with Maya, Motion Builder or equivalent animation software

  • Experience with skinning and rigging either characters or assets

  • Team-driven, able to share and take work

  • Has a willingness to learn information from peers and receive feedback

  • To be able to talk with animators, programmers, and designers

  • Able to adapt to new technologies and technical challenges

In addition, ideally, you might also have:

  • Experience in Unreal Engine

  • Experience with motion capture animation
