FRVR is looking for a talented UI/UX Designer to join our game studio focused on developing “Worlds FRVR”. Within this role you will be a part of a fun, talented, inclusive and dedicated cross-functional team.

The UX/UI Designer is primarily responsible for a set of activities including: conducting initial pragmatic user research, driving a solution vision based on business and user insights, designing desirable and intuitive experiences, developing wireframes and visual designs, and iteratively validating solutions with the team and users. Together with the Game Designer and Artist / Graphic Designer, you will also be responsible for all design and graphics tasks related to the creation, live ops and operations of the standalone Worlds FRVR game along with its integrations with platforms such as Facebook, Yandex, etc.

The Worlds team is to a large extent self-organizing and very nimble, where everyone has a big impact on the direction of the game.

Core responsibilities

  • Create a consistent and all-encompassing user experience for WorldsFRVR.
  • Drive and co-develop the user interface from concept to final implementation and on-going optimisation throughout the entire Worlds FRVR game.
  • Able to plan, conduct, and synthesize user research and usability testing
  • Quickly and thoroughly build user flows, wireframes, design mockups, and prototypes to optimally conceptualize new product initiatives.
  • Identify improvement areas and optimize design solutions.
  • Explore hypotheses, ideas, concepts, and features through user research, competitor analysis, and user testing.
  • Ensure design feasibility and implementation accuracy through actively collaborating as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Establish and manage design system to which you and the design specialists consistently contribute and document design work towards.
  • Create a user experience with monetization at the core.
  • You will also occasionally be responsible for driving marketing related work for the Worlds FRVR game, including promotional videos, store assets, season-based assets.

  • Thrive in a self-motivating, self-driving team and have a strong grasp of what makes games fun.
  • A true team player who cares about collaborative culture and ongoing process improvements as part of a cross-functional teams consisting of developers, marketers as well as other creatives.
  • Experienced user of Figma, GitHub, Principles, Adobe applications.
  • You have a passion for games as a product and solving user-centric problems, and having an interest in more casual world builder games such as Stardew Valley is a plus.
  • Excellent proficiency in both oral and written English.
  • Great visualization skills.
  • Commercial / Monetization / Value design.

Ideally, your background should include:

  • You hold a Bachelor or Master's degree within a design-related field, preferably with relation to interaction design, game theory, information science.
  • Minimum 5-6 years of hands-on UI/UX design experience in a product team setup and ideally have experience from the games industry.
  • Community - the Worlds FRVR Game Studio hangs out on Discord with the games community. It’s a plus if you have experience working like this.

In this role, you can either work from our office in Lisbon (January 2022) or remotely in a European timezone.
