Today, there are five games available for purchase: Exploding Kittens, Bears vs Babies, You’ve Got Crabs, Throw Throw Burrito, and On a Scale of One to T-Rex, as well as an Exploding Kittens mobile app that is one of the top 30 premium games on both iOS and Android.
Our growing and fast-paced company is seeking to hire an International Sales Director who will oversee the growth and expansion of our physical games business along with managing margins, essential reporting, and servicing key relationships for all new and ongoing products outside the US.

To be successful as an International Sales Director, you will need to be able to work with constantly shifting deadlines, and have exceptional people, verbal, and written skills. The ideal candidate will have a blend of business development and global sales experience and networks. Our initial focus is on development of customers in Europe and Asia, so experience in these markets is essential. At least five years of relevant experience within the international physical games industry is required for consideration.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work to identify new and emerging markets
  • Develop a strategy and business plan around international expansion, growth, and maintenance
  • Develop and service new and existing relationships with all international distributors and direct retailers in Europe, Asia, Canada, Latin America, and Oceania
  • Assure international sales best practices and monitor compliance in regard to sales tax, competition laws, and regulations
  • Prepare costing and negotiate contract terms with new and existing customers
  • Manage and oversee external Sales Representatives for applicable customers
  • Promote the brand and new products with new and existing customers, including creating sales pitch decks and attending trade shows
  • Develop and maintain accurate knowledge of ideal consumers, as well as the overall Toy and Game Industry through trend and competitor analysis
  • Suggest and implement improvements in the sales administration process, including reporting tools
  • Liaise with Marketing and Product Development to ensure brand consistency and increase sales
  • Work with Logistics and Production for new product development specs and product availability
  • Manage and optimize profit margins for new and existing products worldwide
  • Receive and relay product feedback from retailers to the Product Development team

Job Requirements

  • Five years’ experience in a related field
  • Strong ability to identify opportunities and transform them into results
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and ability to liaise with relevant operational teams (e.g., production, distribution, etc.)
  • Ability to manage a small and agile teamIn-depth understanding of the sales administration process
  • High level of emotional intelligence and literacy
  • Work comfortably with a variety of ERP systems, competency in software such as Google Drive and Excel, and ability to learn new platforms quickly
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, numerical abilities, and a problem-solving attitude
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skillsHigh service orientation, hands-on mentality, and attention to detail
  • Experience and comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Frequent domestic and international travel
