As the Community Manager, you’ll be the curator of the fan experience and social engagement strategy for EG. This will include coordinating our social media strategy (alongside our Creative Director), being the on-the-ground face of the organization and helping to coordinate all events. You will report to our Creative Director and will own the budget and execution on follower growth, player/fan engagement and advocacy, community projects, and communication efforts.

We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, a keen interest in creatively upholding and living a brand voice, and flexibility. Leadership and management skills are a big plus, as you will be leading a team of social media coordinators, interns, and volunteers.

Responsibilities

  • Curating and executing our social media strategy to align with our brand voice and other departmental goals
  • Managing a team of social media coordinators, interns, and volunteers to ensure the community management department is executing events and social media strategy smoothly
  • Moderating and engaging with fans on social channels and networks including, but not limited to, Twitter, Instagram, and Discord
  • Serve as the voice of the fans internally—develop meaningful community sentiment reports that give insight into the fan experience and help prioritize solutions to topics causing negative sentiments
  • Developing our strategy for events and tournaments to establish EG’s presence and brand growth, including global community events to increase fan interaction and strengthen the relationship with players
  • Work with the partnerships team to ideate potential sponsor activations through events and social media
  • Work with the partnerships team to run activations for sponsors
  • Managing a fan engagement budget, providing pacing and strategy reports to the Creative Director
  • Procuring, negotiating, and managing contracted teams and vendors for event logistics and on-site needs
  • Working with the Business Operations and Creative teams to manage an inventory of “swag” and physical assets for giveaways, engagement, on-site visitors, and staff morale
  • Collaborate with partners (fan-sites, influencers, and other relevant parties) and players to promote our communication efforts

Requirements

  • Be able to travel to both milestone events and activations, as well as be close to our players
  • Experience in executing and developing projects and programs on schedule and on budget
  • Event management and logistics
  • Knowledge in building a team focused on fan growth and building an engaged community
  • Ability to navigate and analyze information to clearly and quickly work through the key issues, problems, and opportunities and relay complex information and ideas to teams for execution
  • Excellent business judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities; proven ability to think outside of the box and innovate
