Overview

We're looking for a VP of Product & Development to lead and scale our engineering organization at Evermore Games. The ideal candidate has built and led engineering teams that shipped successful casual mobile titles to 500k-1M+ monthly active users. We need someone who understands the technical architecture of live games, knows how to build high-performing engineering organizations, and can guide our teams through the challenges of scaling free-to-play titles.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years in mobile gaming, with significant time leading engineering teams

•  Proven track record leading engineering organizations on titles that reached 500K+ MAU

•  Deep experience with Unity—shipping and scaling production mobile games built on the platform

•  Expertise in casual and free-to-play game architecture—client/server, live ops infrastructure, real-time systems

•  Experience scaling engineering teams and establishing technical processes for live games

•  Strong understanding of core loops, progression systems, and meta-game layers from a technical implementation perspective

•  Ability to translate player behavior data into actionable engineering and product priorities

•  Experience guiding games from concept through soft launch to scaled live product

•  Familiarity with play-to-earn mechanics is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

•  Own engineering team structure, hiring, and technical leadership development

•  Lead technical architecture decisions—client performance, server infrastructure, data pipelines

•  Drive product and engineering alignment—ensuring technical decisions serve the player experience

•  Build and maintain engineering processes for scaling live games: CI/CD, release cadences, incident response

•  Mentor and grow engineering leads, fostering a strong technical culture

•  Stay ahead of technical trends, tooling, and infrastructure best practices in mobile gaming

Ideal Traits

•  Player-aware engineering mindset—thinks about the experience, not just the systems

•  Strong technical depth paired with leadership and communication skills

•  Comfortable bridging product, design, and engineering

•  Can challenge technical assumptions constructively without derailing momentum

•  Collaborative and able to elevate engineering teams, not just advise from the sidelines
