Purpose of the Role:

This is a newly established role for Esports Awards Ltd following an exciting period of growth and transition for the company. The successful applicant will quickly establish themselves as a key member of the team working closely alongside the operations & marketing teams, with a focus on being the key researcher in the company, providing valuable insight and analysis to all areas of the business.

The role requires someone with a great esports knowledge base, who is organised and efficient, has a keen understanding of data analysis and good written work, has good communication skills and is keen to work closely alongside the team to deliver the awards.

The Researcher is responsible for providing research into content opportunities, nominees, finalists, panel members, current industry trends, tournament results and more to ensure the wider team are keeping on the pulse of the esports industry in their broadcast, event invitees, finalists and panel members.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Work and collaborate continuously with the marketing and content team to provide research for:
    • Monthly show content/games
    • Weekly recap talking points
    • Guest and Host Background Research and topics for discussion
    • Research into potential nominees, providing background information as well as their results from the year as impartial supporting info.
    • Research and background checks on new panel member applications.
  • Working with the operations team to ensure the top esports talent are invited to the awards.
  • Creating a weekly and monthly internal newsletter detailing the latest news and results from across esports..
  • You will work with the operations team to aid the curation of topics for the Esports Leadership Series and to provide insight into the suggested list of speakers.
  • On the points above, you will be required to provide analysis on researched data, highlighting trends and opportunities..

Personal Specification

  • A passion for and wide stretching knowledge of multiple esports scenes is essential.
  • A strong ability to use excel/google sheets for basic analytical studies and mathematical problems is essential.
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in a research role or similar.
  • A bachelor’s degree at a minimum of 2:1 or equivalent is essential.
  • Ability to work comfortably and confidently, both as a team and independently..
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work quickly from a brief and take initiative.
  • Excellent organisational, self-motivational and timekeeping skills.
  • Have a high attention.
  • Proficient in both Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Willing to learn and keen to take on responsibility.
  • Happy to travel.
