Remote working role

Purpose of the Role:

This is a newly established role for Esports Awards Ltd following an exciting period of growth and transition for the company. The successful applicant will quickly establish themselves as a key member of the team working closely alongside the operations & marketing teams, with a focus on panel management, finalist liaison, esports research, logistics coordination and events management assistance.

The role requires someone with a great esports knowledge base, who is organised and efficient, has good communication skills and is keen to work closely alongside the team to deliver the awards and panel processes.

General Responsibilities

The Esports Community Manager is responsible for the panel management, finalist research, assisting with finalist outreach and communication, operational event assistance, overall esports researcher and awards governance liaison.

The Esports Awards Panel is made up of 75+ industry experts, your role for the panel would include:

  • Scheduling panel calls
  • Taking panel call meeting minutes
  • Researching potential finalists to provide background stats and information for the panel – a keen overall knowledge of all major esports is necessary
  • Researching suggested new panel members
  • Tracking stats on panel engagement
  • Analysis on voting stats & panel influence
  • Assisting with finalist outreach & liaison including:
    • Researching finalist data, including social media handles & following stats etc
    • Sending out finalist comms
    • Assisting with finalist logistics
    • Chasing up any missing information
    • Maintaining & updating CRM with data for finalists, panel members etc.
  • Liaison for the Awards Integrity Partner, the governance company who act as an independent body to oversee the awards process.
  • Supplier liaison for finalist merch – finalist coins, collating addresses etc.
  • Operational help – building out the VIP activations, extra events & after party.
  • Assisting with the main event attendee liaison.
  • Attending the main event, assisting as part of the operational team to run the event and subsidiary events around it.
  • Helping run the Esports leadership Series virtual webinar series – researching current topics, speakers etc.
  • Researching talent to take part in our Spotlight Shows.
  • Researching relevant topical points to be discussed on Spotlight Shows.

On top of this there may be other duties and tasks from time to time that require support, these will be in line with the role's core duties and provide an opportunity to be involved in content planning, the awards process and main event planning.

This will become a very busy role in the lead up to the event so will require a calm head under pressure and flexibility regarding work hours.

Personal Specification

  • A passion for and wide stretching knowledge of the esports industry is essential.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is an advantage but not necessary.
  • Ability to work comfortably and confidently, in a team and on occasions, under no supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Confident when speaking to a group and leading discussion.
  • Ability to work quickly from a brief and take initiative.
  • Excellent organisational, self-motivational and timekeeping skills.
  • Have high attention to detail to pick up on errors and typos.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programmes & comfortable using Google Drive/Docs/Sheets.
  • Confident with sheets/excel, performing basic numerical analysis.
  • Willing to learn and keen to take on responsibility.
  • Happy to travel.
