What You'll Do
Epic Games is looking for a Senior Security Programmer focused on Asset Integrity to protect sensitive game assets from unintended information disclosure. Your efforts will be critical to the success of Fortnite and the many creators who depend on it. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in Unreal Engine and have prior experience developing security features. This is an incredible opportunity to contribute to the next generation of Epic’s game development tools.
In this role, you will
Collaborate with the Fortnite and Unreal Engine teams to understand the security implications of existing and upcoming features, proposing changes if appropriate
Work with internal and external UEFN development teams, including well-known brands, to address concerns about asset integrity and information disclosure
Investigate technical root causes of unintended information disclosure incidents
Proactively seek out components in the Fortnite game client or game server that create asset integrity risks, then clearly communicate the problem and recommended solution
Influence others to maintain a security-oriented mindset
Architect, implement, deploy, and/or maintain new security initiatives for both the Fortnite game client and game server components
Debug, modify, and optimize existing security systems for both the Fortnite game client and game servers
What we're looking for
5+ years of software programming experience in games
Expert knowledge of Unreal Engine and C++ development for Unreal
Understanding of online multiplayer video game architectures
Familiarity with development and security practices on Windows and Linux
Deep, technical understanding of methods used to attack or exploit networked systems
Understanding of client and server sandboxing techniques for Windows and Linux
Understanding of cryptographic principles, especially digital signatures
Experience building or working with CI/CD environments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
