Senior Concept Artist
Epic Games is looking for Senior Concept Artists for our Cary, North Carolina studio to assist in the design, strategy, and implementation of major gameplay features, content, and systems for our video games.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize expert knowledge of 2D art tools, such as Adobe Photoshop to refine art assets and elements.
- Use 3D art tools, such as Max, Maya, or Lightwave for 3D asset creation and refinement.
- Create additional visual concepts for new environments, characters, and weapons.
- Translate a gameplay experience into a visual experience as well as creating stylized concept content.
- Work within gameplay design restraints (environment scale, character abilities, prototype function etc.) and translate those restrictions into visuals that enhance the experience.
- Work closely with programmers and designers to determine the design and scope of our games.
- Lead other members of the team on the creation and implementation of gameplay features.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Animation, or closely related field, from an accredited university in the U.S., or its foreign equivalent, and five (5) years of post-degree progressive experience with all of the following:
- Concept artist in the video game industry.
- Managing art assets and pipelines.
- Using Photoshop, 3DS MAX, Zbrush, or MAYA for 3D asset creation and refinement.
- Optimizing exterior/interior lighting and shading within a variety of environments.
Also:
- At least 2 of the 5 years performing role of an Art Director or similar in the video game industry.
- Contributed to at least two (2) commercially released video game titles.
- Applicants must submit resume, and portfolio demonstrating competence in artistic execution and fundamental artistic pillars such as anatomy, color theory, and design skills.
