GAME DESIGN INTERN
What You'll Do
Fortnite’s Festival is seeking a Game Design intern to help work on quests and implementation for the Season Team. In this role, you will work within Unreal Engine, using a custom toolset designed specifically for creating quests in Fortnite. You will build out and test seasonal content that will delight and retain our players. The Game Design Intern will work alongside an experienced team and be expected to actively participate in the development of Fortnite Festival. By the end of the internship, candidates will have a good grasp of what it is like to work in a live service environment and essential knowledge of development principles and practices. In addition, they will have delivered work that will be played by millions of players across the globe!
In this role, you will
Work with the Fortnite Festival Season Team to design quest content
Implement designed quests in engine and directly into the Fortnite project
Test your quests to make sure they are up to Epic standards
Learn about source control at Epic like Perforce
Learn about project management at Epic and more specifically Jira
Pitch your ideas to product owners
Join in with the team for collaborative work and social play
What we're looking for
Familiar with the basics of game design
Experience working in a game engine with a preference for Unreal
A proactive self-starter who has a hunger to learn
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Passion for developing games
Familiar with Fortnite ecosystem
This internship has a flexible start date in 2025. Recruitment will be ongoing until teams find an ideal match.
