What You'll Do
Epic Games is looking for an Asset Implementer to help us. As an Implementer, you will work with our internal environment art team, as well as art vendors across the globe in order to quality check and integrate environment art assets into our pipeline. Your technical knowledge of Unreal & DCC apps, as well as your artistic eye, will increase the quality and efficiency of our production process.
In this role, you will
Validate technical specification of content, such as, polycount, errors, collision correct UV channels, etc.
Content Budgets & LODs
QA on model & texture submissions from external sources.
Identifying errors on surface geometry and finding solutions to address errors
Receive prototype and final assets to implement into the game, making minor texture edits if necessary
Position is not expected to author final assets
Train new implementers on the process and tools, and ramp up outsourcing companies
Aggressively seek ways to improve and automate the implementation process to make it faster and less error prone
Foster open communication with various disciplines regarding status and known issues with content
What we're looking for
General knowledge of software to apply minor content fixes to collision, lod, texture maps, and UVs where necessary
Ability to grow, can be tasked with low risk assets for growth.
Detail oriented, QA mindset for content
Understanding of how content dependencies work
Basic art knowledge, basic knowledge of various 2d, and 3d applications, and how it relates to real time game art
Moderate experience with Unreal Engine
