The Engine Integration QD will be responsible for maintaining a grounded understanding of tooling and workflows used during smoke practices to best represent the team during planning and sync ups with stakeholders. The role must prioritize the quality of Engine and Data integrations with all its intricacies, ensuring that only green builds end up for extensive testing for all active branches. As part of an elite team, they must create a network of stakeholders around the smoke assessment domain, by developing relationships with technical peers in game development teams and other groups throughout EA studios, and to maintain communications inside and outside the team.

Responsibilities:

Team Productivity – achieve improvements on workflows, equipment, tools, and iteration loops.

  • Collaborate with management to establish metrics to monitor the effectiveness of our workflows and elevate them to KPI in agreement with our partners

  • Ex: manual vs automated test coverage of smoke tests and time spent running tests VS analysis.

  • Track and document the expected test coverage across projects and streams.

  • Challenge the way we do things for smoke related practices and propose improvements to processes and tools (strategical feedback).

  • Monthly sync on the status and most important priorities (additional support from QE/Clockwork).

  • Onboarding process setup for the team.

  • Documentation of processes and practices in the smoke domain.

  • Feel empowered with the right level of delegation and accountability in the team: the lead should be empowered to handle their track 360 degrees, with coaching and mentoring from their DM where needed.

  • Planning and task coordination with the team to fulfill the current and future projects’ needs.

  • Establishment and iteration of the daily triage process.

  • Delegate daily triage of smoke test execution jobs (Jenkins, Overlord, etc).

  • Team backlog management.

  • Participation in the Keep Green processes and be one of the primary POCs.

  • Escalate the risks to the appropriate stakeholders

  • Ensure tactical feedback is encouraged and delivered by team members.

  • Maintain a grounded understanding of tooling and workflows used during smoke practices to best represent the team during planning and sync ups with stakeholders. across the team.

Staff planning and allocation agreements

  • Prepare staffing plans and participate in the planning according to the active and future projects’ needs.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience – entertainment software; game development.

  • A passion for games with a player first mentality.

  • Experience in data-driven product design, quality assurance strategies and process management.

  • Experimental mindset; achieve innovation.

  • Experience working in a live service development model (i.e. sprints, cyclic releases, content deployments).
