We are the Battlefield Central Tech Team (BCT), the technical nucleus powering the acclaimed Battlefield franchise. BCT is home to a remarkable team of technical talent building Battlefield technology on EA's proprietary game engine, Frostbite. We are part of a suite of global studios creating connected experiences for players in the Battlefield universe. This role is located out of the Atlanta, Georgia marketplace. Relocation may be provided for qualified candidates.

Requirements

  • Appropriate knowledge of shooters, business models & competition, with the ability to fluently describe needed functionality and break down described Creative experiences into technical Projects, Features, Epics

  • "You and your entire team always know the most important and urgent things to work on."

  • Collaborate, representing your team's contribution and value to the Franchise through product business planning, from strategic to tactical.

  • Always communicate a technical vision, aligned with game team needs, across a broad spectrum of partners such as execs, production counterparts, and of course development teams.

  • Promote and contribute to planning activities throughout the cycle of designing, building, and running each game and the entire Battlefield Franchise across the entire Game Development Framework.

  • Describe creative and product features in technical terms, constructing roadmaps and breaking them down into deliverables through a groomed backlog

  • Through appropriate scope and capacity management, ensure Central Tech and contribute to great Battlefield games, delivered on time, on budget, and on quality.

  • Maintain clear priorities while setting, yet realistic goals.

  • Provide guidance and instruction towards a clear important result (a single feature) or group of aligned results (multiple features and games).

  • Set delivery goals that prioritize the quality of the work with the product in mind

  • Work with QA to measure and qualify product quality at each milestone and communicate this with the entire development team

  • Improve product and development direction using metrics, goals, and data to make informed decisions.

  • In partnership, manage risk by identifying specifics to reduce impacts.

  • Collaboration with project management and technical peers and partners

  • Be a leader for in-market studio operations, team events, team meetings, and in-market industry events

  • Work as a liaison and partner to Studio partner Teams for technology, and facilities to support local in-market staff

Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience as a Product Owner or Producer for technical teams working on AAA game(s), through the full cycle of development, or similar experience in enterprise/cloud software.

  • Coordinate development of primary technologies across multiple teams, for a variety of internal customers (e.g. "insourcing" or systems or tools creation).

  • Create platform(s) for development, coordinating game engine (or enterprise software) requirements with development teams, to create efficient production

  • Roadmap, plan, and execution across multiple simultaneous projects and years, with fluency and facility in change management.

  • Collaboration with project management and technical peers and leaders (especially on technical topics and feature sets)

  • Team leadership through both direct management and influence to internal and external partners and customers

  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and other standards of business.
